I've had the honor of visiting schools in Tennessee and New York to talk with 4th and 5th graders about my new book, Martha Ann's Quilt for Queen Victoria. The kids were all very well prepared, having read the book before my author's visit.
The kids had marvelous comments and questions about Martha Ann Ricks' life! Each seemed to connect to Martha Ann's desire to follow her dream. Even the boys in the class connected to the story, to my utter amazement.
