Before Books - Storytellers


Before books, who told our stories? The storytellers. There are several national organizations devoted to African Americans storytelling. Visit http://www.yourfavoritestorytellers.org/ (photo) or even the National Association of Black Storytellers to learn more about the men and women who tell our stories today.

Invite aviator Bessie Coleman, Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, the first woman to run for US President, millionaire Madame CJ Walker, or freedom fighter Harriet Tubman to your child's school or party by engaging character storytellers such as:
