Review - The Perfume of Memory

Gentle story for any young girl... The Perfume of Memory by Michelle Nikly. This 32-page picture book tells the story of a kingdom where traditions are forgotten, including the one allowing girls to participate in the annual Royal Perform Making competition. Motherless Yasmin uses the perfume-making skills her father taught her to help the Queen regain her memories.

Beautifully written. With Jean Claverie's delicate illustrations you can smell the scents of the kingdom swirling up from the pages.
